*What is Fight Club?*

 

This is a monthly commercial acting competition and audition simulation.

Actors prepare commercial copy and audition on Zoom in front of “the client."

Someone will book the spot you’re assigned, decided by your peers and colleagues, “the client."

Winners announced at the end of every Fight Club.

 

At the beginning of Fight Club, I’ll break you up into two groups.

If you are not performing, you’ll be in the main session with me, your session director.

In the main session, you're the client / director / producer / writer.

As the client, you’ll watch actors and give adjustments, with opportunities to discuss between auditions.

As the actor, you’ll be called in one at a time to perform for the client. You may get an adjustment from the director, or you could be called back or switch scene partners. It all depends on how the client runs it.

 

Then we switch jobs half way through the session.

Acting group becomes the client group and vice versa.

So everyone will both act AND cast during Fight Club.

 

I’ll run through this on the day as well, so it’s clear for everybody.

*Do I need to bring anything?*

 

Just your prepared self.

I’ll send out assignments a day or two ahead of time.

 

 

*Can I review my work?*

 

Yes! I encourage you to.

 

I'll record all the performances, and I’ll post everything online for review after the Fight Club ends. That way, you’ll see how you’re actually presented to the client after a real Zoom audition / callback. It’s an opportunity to watch your competitors as well, check your wardrobe, self tape setup, and execution of the material.

 

I’ll email everyone a client link after the Club, where all the videos will live for 30 days.
